A found-family comedy-drama with the swagger of a startup that knows it's going to make it. Big personalities, fast banter, real heart, constant forward momentum.
Founder-energy incarnate. Early 40s, bald, greying beard, always mid-gesture and mid-plan. He turned a stranded convoy into a crew and a business, and never runs out of the next idea — his genius is the pivot. Loud, warm, bottomless dad jokes, real belief in the mission. In the pilot, he lights the first emberlight.
The crew's hotshot and favorite bad influence. Mid-30s, lean and restless, treats every flight like the best day of her life and every dare as a personal invitation. Took her first job as a kid in the Scattering and never looked back — now she's hungry to prove the best days are ahead, and flies like she's chasing them down.
The deadpan straight man to BeeRock's chaos. 50s–60s, tall and weathered, permanently unimpressed — sighs, checks his rifle, fixes the problem while everyone argues. Old enough to actually remember the homeworld; he carries the quiet grief of a guard who couldn't guard anything. Bone-dry wit, immovable loyalty, a soft spot he'll deny with his dying breath.
A crown jewel of the golden age, reduced (in her opinion) to babysitting this crew — and secretly devoted to them. Cantankerous, wildly advanced, oddly maternal, deeply sarcastic. She runs The Spark, patches the comms, and is the lone voice of financial reason. Roast-master and exposition engine, realized as a drifting mote of light.
